I would grab all the money that I could carry. Money is the root of all GOOD - it buys food for our families, care from our doctors, envy from our enemies.
I'd leave it there. At my age the cost of leaning over exceeds the value of a few bills.
Also, if I didn't see it coming out of the truck, I'd assume it was left from a drug deal and the dealers might happen to be coming back for it. Better if they don't see me taking it.
It’s all yours for the taking, Bari. Who knows why? Maybe a random act of the universe. Or maybe God wanted to reward you and punish Brinks. The company lost far money settling criminal allegations so this is pocket change.
If you're walking along and find a $20, $10 or $5 or even $1 bill, what do you do? You pick it up, and maybe look around to see if anyone appears to be looking for it, or knows they dropped it, right? I'm talking about coming upon it, not, for instance, witnessing someone drop it - in which case, hopefully, most people would run after the person and suggest they be more careful. Say it's a quarter, or a nickel, or a dime, or a found penney? If it's stacks of bills bound by bands indicating $1,000 or more, and you didn't see how it got there/who dropped it? But if you had to open a bag that was emblazoned with "Brinks," first thing I'd do is look for cameras. And if I didn't see any...I'd probably take it home, and try and contact Brinks and let them know I had one of their bags of cash, and how can I get it back to them? Because there probably would be a reward for such a find. On the other hand, Brinks is (theoretically) insured. So are you really taking money 'from' them? I mean, if they don't secure it, maybe they don't really care about it because they're insured? Either way, a reward - if only a stock of those bills - would be customary. And they could write it off. But jail time? How to prove you knew it belonged to Brinks when you found it/took it? That might be harder for a prosecutor to prove...

Could drug money even if it fell from a Brinks truck, based on their record.
I confess, I voted for finders keepers. A kind of financial vacation from living paycheck to paycheck..

Thank you for absolving me, Al. 🙏😊
